Dear Mothers, everywhere. I see you. I see you in the grocery store, tired and working through your child’s whining and begging. I see you at the park, trying to socialize and run the energy out of your little ones. I see you working hard, trying to balance it all — wife, mom, woman, creative soul and one who longs for more. Some days you are on top of the world, and some days it is a crushing weight.
Today I want you to remember — you are amazing. You are doing a good job! No matter the times when you doubt your ability, your energy, or even your patience, you’ve got this. These tiny humans, who wake you up at night, cry for no reason, argue and talk back – they don’t see the questions. They feel your warmth and your love. When you wrap your arms around them, read them a book, sing them a song or take them on a walk, those are the moments that are speaking to them. When your pre-teen wants to share every detail of the day, she is remembering that you listened. That you were there when they needed and wanted you.
Take time today to enjoy the good job you are doing. Just as you believe your children are worth celebrating, remember that you, too, are worth celebrating. It is a worthwhile job, this one you are doing. And well done!
